History & Background

After a long time of waiting in launching to the North Rift Region and in a bid to fulfill the CITAM  mission of reaching “Kenya and the rest of the world impacted with the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ in the Power of the Holy Spirit”, the Bishop, Elders Council and the Missions Department decided in 2012 to initiate the CITAM Eldoret Church planting.

A staff team made up of Rev John Wesley Nguuh (Senior Pastor), Rev Josephine Nguuh, Pastor Aggrey Omukunga, Sis Dorina Oluko, and Steve Kihara were appointed to spearhead the Church plant.  The CITAM Eldoret Church plant Committee led by the Deputy Bishop with membership of relevant CITAM Heads of Deapartments (HoDs), building committee representative, a deacon, an elder were put in place to give necessary support to the staff team until the Church was officially launched later that year. The team was well received on the ground by brethren and various church leaders. By God’s favor the staff got appropriate housing and schools for their children respectively. The Senior pastor appointed an interim leadership team in August 2013 to assist him in the leadership of the church before the official launch of the church when an advisory team was appointed.

A prime four-acre piece of land was identified in 2012 at Pioneer Estate, Eldoret and a process of acquisition of the land commenced. Unfortunately the process turned out to be a long wait for the vendor to get the legal land documents but with much patience and  prayer, the documents were obtained in Dec 2013. Hence the transfer of documents to CITAM commenced and was completed in mid Feb 2014. Glory to God.

CITAM wide prayer and fasting initiative was put in place in March 2013.  CITAM joint prayers were held every Sunday afternoon in April and May from 2.30 p.m. to 4.00 p.m. in the JMC CITAM Valley Road.  Due to  unavailability of documents for the plot, no services could commence on the land and hence alternate meeting places and for the office were sought. By the grace of God a bungalow to host the office was found in Pioneer estate not far from the plot. No suitable place for prayer meetings and Sunday services was found in town. By divine design, the proprietors of the Alphax college accepted us to hold our weekday meetings from their place. A joint CITAM overnight prayer meeting was held in Eldoret on Friday 26th April 2013 at Alphax College. The first weekly prayer meeting of Wednesday at 5.30-7.00pm was held in the first week of May 2013 at Alphax College with about 15 people in attendance. The weekly prayer meeting still continues at Alphax College with an average attendance of 30 people .

By mid-June there was much pressure to begin Sunday services but there was no venue for meetings. Again God used the proprietors of Alphax college who also own the Noble Hotel and Conference center to offer an incubation space for the church.  The first Sunday service was held at the Noble Hotel and Conference Center on 30th June 2013 with 150 people in attendance as part of the CITAM 50 days of celebrating God’s favor campaign. The church has continued to meet at the Noble since then and has grown in attendance to about 400 people including children.

Various service and fellowship ministries have been formed and the church has run with all children ministry activities since inception. The youth ministry has been in formative stages and a youth service was launched in February 2014.

Pray for Holy Spirit led Eldoret town-wide evangelistic activities from the month of May targeted to different stratified groups including children, youth, professionals, men, women etc. Good working relationships with the County and national political and government leaders and offices.

Change your life today.
